I was born and raised in Mumbai, India. The youngest of four children, all of whom were very expressive, I found my voice early.
From the beginning, I was passionate about writing and film. In high school I began to direct plays and act,
in addition to writing fiction.
Upon completing high school, I came to the United States to go to college. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics
and Mathematics from Ohio Wesleyan University, and a Master's Degree in Economics at Stanford University.
My decision to pursue graduate work in Economics at Stanford was an academic's response to the enormous problems of scarcity
and suffering rampant in India. While at Stanford, however, I concluded that cold economic analysis could not by itself solve the
complex economic and social issues of poor countries. I yearned to take a more humanistic approach to these problems.
My lifelong passion for storytelling and art, which I had continued to cultivate, eventually led me to the University of
Southern California (USC) School of Cinematic Arts.
This film is the culmination of three years of hands-on filmmaking education at USC where I have focused on writing, directing
and film editing. Prior to this film, I have directed six short films at USC, one of which - "An Old Recipe" - won me
the Bernard R. Kantor Scholarship for Directing at USC.
Born and raised in Southern California, Julie graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree

The Hottest State,

1408). Recently,
Julie has served as Production Coordinator on two highly acclaimed projects: the HBO series
Flight of the Conchords and the
feature film
Sugar, a 2008 Sundance Grand Jury Prize Nominee from the creative team behind
Half Nelson.
Sugar was
shot on location in the Dominican Republic, Iowa, Arizona, and New York.
An avid photographer, Julie will be returning to school this fall to pursue a MFA in photography.
As a 2002 graduate of the film production program at the University of Southern California, Marcy's foray into producing began at USC when she produced her first thesis film Periphery, Texas. Upon graduation Marcy went on to produce another award winning short film Band Camp, which circulated numerous festivals and also aired on the Independent Film Channel (IFC) as part of their shorts program.
In 2003 Marcy moved to New York after being accepted into the DGA Training Program. After working on numerous shows as a trainee (The Sopranos, Law & Order SVU, Law & Order Trial By Jury, Stay, Lord of War, Annapolis, and In Good Company), Marcy finally became a member of the Director's Guild in 2005. Since then Marcy has been working steadily as a 2nd AD on shows such as Heroes, Miss Guided, and Vicious Circle.
